Week 1
The first week of turkey season has come and gone. The Toms are gobbling and actively looking for hens. We are off to a great start with 3 hunters and 3 gobblers down. What a great week!
Week 2
You know the best thing about hunting? Turning strangers into friends and creating life long memories. Week 2 was just as good as week one. It's only Wednesday and everyone left happy last night. Now it's time to get out and do some scouting for the next group. I wouldn't complain if it stayed nice and cool either... It's perfect out here!
Week 3
We had a couple of cancellations this week and will be requiring a nominal non-refundable deposit for hunts moving forward. However, we understand that events happen in life that we don't expect and are happy to work with you to change your hunt to a different date when possible. We took this week to scout every part of the property and found birds we didn't even know existed! And they are still making lots of noise at first light, it's very exciting.
Week 4
The weather changed bit this week. We have had some rain (much needed!!!) and very heavy fog. This made the birds stay in the trees longer and get off schedule. They were also gobbling less. We had a hunter come in mid week from Texas and got a beautiful mature bird. They responded well to calls. We are still at 100% success for the season and have an opening during the last week if anyone is interested in a last minute hunt.
